Fully Drawn Yarns
Fully Drawn Yarn is a type of highly drawn polyester
filament commonly used in the manufacture of fabrics and
textiles. Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) is also known as Fully
Oriented Yarn Polyester (FOY). It is treated in the same
way as Partially Oriented Yarn is produced (POY).
However, in comparison to POY, the yarn is spun at
extremely high speeds and coupled with intermediate
drawing. Furthermore, the high spinning rates allow for
stabilization through orientation and crystallization.

Detailed Information
Fully Drawn Yarn is commonly used as a weft or warp in
fabric manufacturing. It may be knitted or woven into a
wide range of fabrics when combined with other filament
yarns.
Fully Drawn Yarns are classified into three categories based on luster:Â
- Semi-dull (SD)
- Bright (BR), andÂ
- Trilobal Bright (TBR).Â
