Staple Fiber produced from Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA)
and Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) or PET Chips or Recycled
PET Bottle Flakes is called Polyester Staple Fiber
(PSF).
Virgin PSF is made from PTA and MEG or PET Chips,
whereas Recycled PSF is made from Recycled PET Flakes.
100% virgin PSF is usually more expensive than recycled
PSF, but it’s also more sanitary and environmentally
friendly.
Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) has emerged as the
fastest-growing fibre amongst all types of manufactured
fibres. Polyesters are made by polymerisation of
Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and Mono Ethylene
Glycol (MEG).
