Rayon

Semi-synthetic cellulosic fibre Rayon is extensively utilised in a broad range of products from clothes to bedsheets to tyre wire, for example. Even though rayon is derived from natural sources (such as beech trees or bamboo), it goes through a lot of chemical processing before it can be considered a man-made fibre. Rayon is a soft fabric having a comparable feel to cotton or linen. It may be silky smooth or even have a sheen to it. Additionally, the supple fabric has a flowing drape, which means it hangs and flows rather than being stiff and holding its form.

Detailed Information

There are three basic kinds of rayon: nylon, polyester, and silk.

Rayon made of viscose. Fabrics produced from wood pulp such as viscose, a semi-synthetic form of rayon, are often used as silk alternatives because of their comparable drape and smoothness.

Modal. Clothing like underwear and pyjamas, as well as household goods like bed sheets and towels, are produced from modal fabric, a semi-synthetic fabric derived from beech tree pulp.

Lyocell. As with modal, Lyocell is derived from beech trees, but the manufacturing method utilises much less harmful chemicals, making it far better for the environment.
